Pastelle Rose d'Anjou
680 yen @ Yamaya
The best cheap wine we've found so far. Great to have on a hot summer afternoon. Worked well with fish, too.
2008 Sella & Mosca Vermentino Di Sardegna
1,180 yen at Yamaya
Very drinkable. Very dry. Good with fish and cheese.
Buying and cooking fish - 1
Bought on sale at Kasumi.
The first one seems to be "a young Japanese amberjack" (はまち,
Seriola dumerili, Сериола)
The second is a swordfish
(
かじき,
Xiphias gladius, рыба-меч)
Both were seared on a hot pan with some olive oil with some salt and black pepper. Turned out well, but the swordfish was pretty tough.

2007 Antonin Rodet Saint-Amour Table Wine
Price unknown.
Overall: 7/10
M: 7.78/10 (good 7). It is my mom's favorite table wine. She had it at her wedding.
2008 Le Piazze Montepulciano D'Abruzzo
680 yen @ Yamaya
Overall: 5/10
M: 6.28/10
J: 4.32/10
L: Sour
Was preceded by two other bottles of wine, and still tasted not that good. Had a strong nose, but other than that the taste left a lot to be desired.
2007 Antonin Rodet Beaujolais
980 yen @ Yamaya
Overall: 7/10
J: 7/10 (7-6-5 then back to 7). Totally drinkable, nothing special.
R: White, heh?... I don't like bitterness... 8/10
M: 7/10. For rose, I think it's good. Not dry, not sweet.
L: No nose. Not complex. Drinkable.
